| One of the most socially interesting and diverse suburbs in Sydney, known for its alternative life styles and variety of restaurants, antiques galleries and stores. Easy access by public transport (bus and rail) makes it an important destination for unique shopping experience, dinner or just mixing with the crowd full of character and charm. Walking is recommended in favor of other means of transport. Most of the action is concentrated along King street. |

My partner and I are from London and we stayed in Newtown a few months back at a great B&B called Ardmore House.Across the road was a great pub called The Carlisle Castle. The food in the Bistro is fantastic. We also loved King Street with its amazing array of restaurants. A great Vietnamese called Than Binh or something like that Awesome.
The guys at Ardmore House can point you in the right direction for almost everything in Sydney Fantastic experience. Cant wait to go back |

i love this place above most in sydney. its totally buzzing with a quiet energy (sometimes not so subtle!) what an amazing city, what an amazing suburb. i`m `greenie-left` and i feel at home in the mix of free culture here. and by culture, i mean distinctly australian in every sense (the whole panorama of its history from the start till right now). see it on foot and have time on your hands. be prepared to linger. |

I went to Sydney at the beginnign of January this year, and we stayed at a small hotel at Newtown...somewhere on George St. I loved it there. The atmosphere there is so different. It`s great. It has the dirty, busy yet absolutely awesome feel I love. I loved it there. A bit scary till you get used to it, but it`s really good experience, to see so many different people and interests, cofe places and restaurants, small shops and hotels. |

My partner and I lived in Newtown for a year. We stayed in Fulham Street, and it was the most exciting time of my life! Not only did i get to know more about the woman of my dreams, and we conceived our daughter Tylah there. The City is unbelievable, the people are friendly, so much to see and do...Cink, which is our favorite cafe bar down King Street big ups there! And to think this all happened 5 years ago, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KID! BIG UPS FOR NEWTOWN!! HI CELESTE AND NICK! |

My first thought on Newton was Wow! how different and edgy. That no one person is the same as it is where I live. The many culturally & wonderfully filled Restaurants one could choose from and throughly enjoy as I have. And even to those who may not like the Idea, to have your dog seated next to you while you chat & sip coffee. To go for a relaxing walk up one end of Newton to the other after dinner and window shop is a bonus. What a shame I can`t afford to live there or buy there. I also go there to see my doctor who is worth taking the time and the trip, been doing that for about 10-12 years. JUST GREAT!!! I hear the night life is different as well. Must look that up one day. |
