| The City of Sydney - Sydney CBD (Central Business District) - is compact and can be walked across in about half an hour. Car is not recommended transport for a visitor because of heavy traffic and lack of and cost of parking. The City is easily accessible from suburbs by train, bus or ferry, and commuting within the City is even easier and more scenic with the monorail or tram. Attractions are spread all over the City and include historical buildings, parks, museums and galleries, shopping and harbour views. |

I lived in Sydney for 8 years and it always hold a special place in my heart. I love everything about the city: the great weather, the friendly people, the beautiful beaches, the cafes, the shopping arcades, and mostly the great transportation system. Lots of great memories. I hope to be able to return there with my husband later this year. |

This is not the Hoyt`s theatres I worked in, as a Page boy in my early teens, I worked at the Century, Regent & Plaza theatres. All three were works of art, from the foyer to the stage, the foyer of the Plaza & Regent, were covered with sculptures, gold gilt and plush materials, the Plaza now is a B----y MacDonalds, the trocadero, famous dnace hall, night club during ww2 would be filled with military personnell, Aussies, Yanks & British, across the lane alongside the Plaza was the Baltimore restaraunt, served the BEST pancakes around, how many I consumed on my `Rest Breaks`. The Century had the quietest decor of the lot, all gone now, except in my memory |

Sydney is a lovely city to visit. Don`t be surprised if you want to stay forever. It has that kind of charm.
It will invite you in. Warm you. Chill you. Invigorate you. Above all, excite you.
Come see the enchanting Darling Habour. While boats and ferries play on the water nearby, you can dine in a charming restaurant, or pick up a treat in the varied bistro areas.
And shopping, ah, divine. Bring loads of cash. Splurge. Enjoy. It`s a real goer at night.
How about George Street? George Street is the heart of Sydney. It pulses. It lives. It thrives.
It moves throughout the city, covering The Rocks--another must-see for its history and old-world feel--the business district, fine shops, and cinema multiplexes.
Of course, no one invades Sydney without seeing The Sydney Opera House, a world-renown wonder, with its beaming off-white shells.
Take in a evening concert there, or a play, and walk along Circular Quay, enjoying the buzz, sights, and sounds of Sydney Harbour. While walking, make sure you have a camera. Nighttime Sydney is a panorama of gorgeous snapshots, begging to happen.
Sydney, a beauty! Experience it.

This "city" holds a special place in my heart. I have visted Sydney three times and I hope to return more permenately. I have walked these streets and know my way around here better than I do any major city in Texas(where I am from). Nothing compares to Syndey. |
