I am a member at hurstville aquatic centre and have been so for several years. I am overseas at the moment and have visited several swimming centres in the netherlands where i am based, trying to find a place where they do aquarobics. I have come to the conclusion that they don,t know what it is! They do aerobics in the water, but not the special ones needed to get the full benefit of the water. I miss my classes there with Bonnie and Cheryl and the fun that they bring to the classes! It,s all so serious over here! Finally for all its faults and sometimes uncleanliness.... hurstville still beats everything that i,ve seen over here! |

After reading some of the above comments I would like to say to the above people, that you they very fortunate in Australia to have these facilities provided to the public for a reasonable rate. Come and visit other countries around the world such as America where I now live before being so quick to critisize what Sydney provides. The town pools here ARE old, basic and disgusting and the really nice ones are in more affluent areas for in-residence only. I wish I was stil living in Sydney and visiting the pools in Hurstville. The gap between the rich and the poor is big in America, unlike Sydney, and therefore you must be wealthy to have access to pools like Hurstville pools. So at least you have fairly nice and new swimming pools like Hurstville pools for all to use with nice features for the general public. |

How good is this pool! We went there a couple of weeks ago and had a go on the slide and inflatable. The kids had a great time, we ended up spending the day there. The kids pool is awesome, a good temperature to splash around with the kids. |

Hursville Aquatic is dirty and crowded, especially on Friday afternoons, where the swim classes only leave 3 lanes for the lap swimmers. Management is unhelpful and unresponsive. Repeated attempts to get cleanliness improved have had no noticeable effect. Most poolside staff do very little. They rarely monitor the lanes, so I would hate to be drowning. They now announce that any child under 12 must be actively supervised by an adult, so what do they pay their attendants to do? Is it any wonder people stop going there and they have to expand the swim classes to try to make some money. Is Hurstvill Council (the owner) interested in any of this? There is no evidence they have a positive input. The best time to go is school holidays in Winter, where you can have a lane to yourself. On some days they were lucky to have 10 patrons. Says it all, really. What a waste of an excellent facility at the expense of making a fast buck on the transient swim class patrons. |

All the times ive been there ive enjoyed myself. The toddler pool is excellent as well as the creche so i can have a swim on my own. The family change room is good for people with kids. And when the weather permits the doors opening onto the grass are good although the floor outside can get very hot. |
