Bays/Beaches: Shark Bay
address  Greycliffe Av VAUCLUSE 2030
parking free offstreet;free car park
Surrounded by bushy Nielsen Park and a part of the Sydney Harbour National Park, this tidal beach is a lovely popular place for it has plenty of green shaded space, calm water with a hint of a swell and a shark proof net. Kiosk, toilets, picnic tables, barbecues, drinking water and proximity to the City make it one of the preferred places for family and corporate picnics. While in the area, also visit Vaucluse Park with its historical Vaucluse House. Be aware that parking is extremely limited here.

This bay is beautiful, there is a grass area where you can get some shade,a nice little coffee shop, gorgeous beach and nice area for swimming(it does have a shark net). Beautiful views over to the city, it`s my favourite place. Magical. It makes you glad to be alive.

I`m a 15 year old who regulary visits Shark Bay in the Summer with my family. I think it`s a great place to be and a great place to have fun The only problem is parking.

i am writing about kelly and steve remarks. i honestly think they have no idea what they are talking about as you call it "shark bay" is very commonly known but not ass shark bay but as "nelison beach". If you asked someone who lived in vaucluse or surounding areas where "sharkbay" was many wouldnt have a clue what you are talking about but if you asked them where "nelsion beach" is they could give you directions in a flash.

I passed Shark Bay on my walk from Rose Bay to Watson`s Bay. It is an amazing spot and well worth a visit. Some Australian`s i spoke to have never been to Shark Bay, i was shocked that this beautiful place was taken for granted and never experienced by people living so close.

When I visted Australia, I stopped in Vaucluse, for a number of months and will always remember Shark Bay as a very beautiful place. I spent Christmas Day 2001 there and it was a Christmas Day like no other. Christmas Day on one of the best beaches I have seen, BRILLIANT.
